France Appoints Marion Carré as Ambassador for National Artificial Intelligence Strategy

Jul 2, 2025

CEO of Ask Mona, Marion Carré has been appointed as an ambassador for "Osez l’IA", the national initiative led by Clara Chappaz, France’s Minister for AI and Digital Affairs. This appointment recognizes nearly a decade of work dedicated to making AI a driver of curiosity, knowledge and innovation in the cultural and educational sectors. It also acknowledges the collective efforts of the entire Ask Mona team to make AI more accessible, human, and meaningful.

Nominated specifically by Nathalie Delattre, Minister for Tourism, Marion will take on a focused mission: helping the tourism sector embrace AI.

Why does AI need ambassadors?

France is home to brilliant researchers, strong infrastructures and a vibrant ecosystem of AI startups. And yet, the adoption of these technologies remains slow, especially outside of major urban and tech hubs.

The Osez l'IA plan aims to change that, with three clear priorities:

  • Raise awareness across the country
  • Train people in concrete and inclusive ways
  • Support those who are ready to take the leap

Ambassadors play a key role in this strategy. Marion Carré joins a committed group of public figures, alongside Vincent Smadja, Moussa Camara, Nicolas Guyon, and Anne Bouverot, to promote a compelling, practical and human-centered narrative around AI.

AI: A strategic challenge for tourism

The tourism industry is still under-equipped when it comes to AI.

According to France’s Ministry of Economy, only 3% of tourism SMEs use AI tools today. Meanwhile, more than 30% of French people already use AI to plan their travels, according to a recent Havas study.

This gap highlights a pressing challenge: ensuring that tourism professionals can access and adopt AI tools to meet the expectations of increasingly connected audiences.

That’s precisely where Marion Carré comes in. As tourism ambassador for Osez l'IA, her role will be to inform, train and guide institutions, tourism offices, cultural sites and private companies, helping them explore relevant, accessible and practical applications of AI.

Curiosity, culture and local engagement: a unique perspective

In her appointment speech, Marion emphasized a core belief:

“Artificial intelligence is not just a productivity tool. It’s also a window into curiosity.”

This mindset is at the heart of Ask Mona’s work: using AI not to replace human experience, but to enrich it, especially in tourism, culture, and lifelong learning.

Her new role aligns closely with many of the projects we’ve already carried out in the field, from the tourist office of the Grand Sancerrois to national institutions like the Château de Versailles, always with the same goal: to create richer, more engaging interactions between people, places and knowledge.

What’s next? Time for action

This appointment is a symbolic milestone, but above all, it’s the beginning of a new chapter.
Marion will continue working closely with tourism professionals across France to help bring AI into everyday practice, with concrete, sustainable and meaningful solutions.

So that AI is no longer seen as an abstract technology, but rather as a real tool for hospitality, storytelling and impact.
